El canal de transmisión de las tasas de interés en la política monetaria de México

Resumen

El objetivo de este artículo es determinar empíricamente los principales canales de transmisión de las tasas de interés en México. Lo anterior se lleva a cabo mediante la especifi cación y estimación de un modelo VAR estructural cointegrado (SVAR) que captura los mecanismos de transmisión entre las tasas de interés de México en el corto y en el largo plazos. Los resultados econométricos sugieren que el mecanismo de transmisión de las tasas de interés en México sigue dos canales claramente defi nidos y que el papel monopólico de las instituciones de crédito desempeña un papel fundamental en la determinación del traspaso entre las tasas de interés.
